Arisaig Station Adoption

Arisaig Railway Station was adopted by the Trust through an Abellio Scotrail Scheme. New planters and benches were installed in 2017 and we conducted a community consultation to seek ideas for alternative uses for the station buildings. Unfortunately, no viable project was identified and grant funding to continue the work was not forthcoming.

The station building on platform one was leased by the Trust and used as an additional office space to store documents until an alternative location could be found. The building was also used by other community groups and we have been delighted to offer this space to the Arisaig Americana Music Festival for their annual Legendary Station Session.

The lease was not renewed in 2023 but we continue to look after the station planters, thanks to a group of dedicated volunteers.
