Arisaig Community Trust has brought more than £500,000 to the village and made a lasting difference to the people living here.

“The best thing about being involved is the enjoyment I get from working with an enthusiastic group of like-minded people to improve and enhance our village.”

Arisaig Eco Project

£162,000 from the Climate Challenge Fund enabled us to make a real difference to Arisaig's carbon footprint.

Public Toilets

Arisaig's public toilets were threatened with closure by Highland Council in March 2011, to the dismay of local residents.

Playing fields

The Trust's first project was negotiating the lease of the playing fields from the local estate in 2011.

Arisaig Station Adoption

Arisaig railway station has recently been adopted by us through an Abellio Scotrail scheme.

Marking the centenary of WW1 with a series of historical events and restoration of the war memorial footpath.

Community Housing Project

We are undertaking a feasibility study for developing new eco-friendly homes in Arisaig.

Future Projects

Land, Sea & Islands Centre car park

During 2017 we will be improving the existing car park and creating several new disabled spaces. We also hope to install two electric vehicle charge points.

New store for Land, Sea & Islands Centre

Funding is almost in place to build a much needed store beside the LSIC. This will help the Centre look after its collections and give it more flexibility when it comes to changing and updating displays.

Land, Sea & Islands Centre extension

We have exciting plans for a new extension to the Centre which would increase the size of the shop and exhibition space, as well as create a small refreshment area. Sam Foster, who grew up in Arisaig and helped with the 2015 refurbishment project, has agreed to design the new extension for us and you can see his architectural drawings below.
