  1. The Competition

1.1 The Arisaig Community Trust Orchard Design Competition (“the Competition”) invites entrants to submit a design for a nature-friendly garden or planting area in the Arisaig community orchard.

1.2 The Competition is run as part of ACT’s Reviving Nature in Arisaig project.

  1. Eligibility

2.1 The Competition is open to everyone. There are no age, residency, or membership requirements.

2.2 Employees and Directors of Arisaig Community Trust may enter but are not eligible to win.

  1. Categories

3.1 Most Imaginative Design. Entries may be drawings, paintings, collages, models, or any other creative format.

3.2 Most Nature-Friendly Design. Entries should present a realistic vision for a nature-friendly planting area in the orchard space.

3.3 Entrants may only enter one category. If an entrant’s age category is unclear, ACT reserves the right to assign them to the most appropriate category.

  1. How to Enter

4.1 Entries may be submitted by:

4.2 All entries must include the entrant’s name, age (Under 16s only), and a contact email address or phone number.

4.3 Physical entries will not be returned unless specifically requested at the time of submission.

  1. Closing Date

5.1 Entries must be received by 5pm on Friday 17th July 2025.

5.2 Late entries will not be considered.

  1. Judging

6.1 Entries will be judged by a panel selected by Arisaig Community Trust.

6.2 For the Under 16s category, entries will be judged on creativity, imagination, and engagement with the brief.

6.3 For the Adults category, entries will be judged on practicality, nature-friendliness, and suitability for the orchard space.

6.4 The judges’ decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome.

  1. Prizes

7.1 The winner(s) of the Under 16s category will receive a medal/rosette and a lucky bag.

7.2 The winner(s) of the Adults category will be invited to be involved in the development of the community orchard as part of the Reviving Nature in Arisaig project. No cash alternative is available.

7.3 ACT reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value if necessary.

7.4 Winners will be notified by ACT using the contact details provided at entry.

  1. Use of Entries

8.1 By entering the Competition, entrants grant Arisaig Community Trust a non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, and display their entry for the purposes of the Competition, the Reviving Nature in Arisaig project, and ACT’s communications (including social media, newsletters, and website), with appropriate credit given.

8.2 The entrant retains ownership of their design.

8.3 Winning and shortlisted entries may be displayed at ACT events or at the Land, Sea & Islands Centre.

  1. Data and Privacy

9.1 Personal information collected as part of the Competition will be used only for the purposes of administering the Competition and contacting winners.

9.2 ACT will not share personal information with third parties without consent, except as required by law.

9.3 ACT’s full privacy policy is available at www.arisaigcommunitytrust.org.uk.

  1. General

10.1 ACT reserves the right to cancel, amend, or extend the Competition at any time, with reasonable notice given where possible.

10.2 ACT accepts no responsibility for entries lost, delayed, or not received due to technical or postal issues.

10.3 The Competition is subject to the laws of Scotland.
