Arisaig Community Trust has brought more than £500,000 to the village and made a lasting difference to the people living here.

Funding and support from the Climate Challenge Fund enabled us to make a real difference to Arisaig’s carbon footprint.

Arisaig’s public toilets were threatened with closure by Highland Council in March 2011, to the dismay of local residents.

The Trust’s first project was negotiating the lease of the playing fields from the local estate in 2011.

Arisaig railway station has recently been adopted by us through an Abellio Scotrail scheme.

Marking the centenary of WW1 with a series of historical events and restoration of the war memorial footpath.

We are undertaking a feasibility study for developing new eco-friendly homes in Arisaig.

Improving the layout of the Arisaig shorefront for visitors and residents with better parking, paths and signage.

​Community Housing​

With funding from the Scottish Land Fund and the Rural Housing Fund, we are undertaking a feasibility study with Highland Small Communities Housing Trust

Land, Sea and Island Centre

We have exciting plans for a new extension to the Centre which would increase the size of the shop and exhibition space, as well as create a small refreshment area. Sam Foster, who grew up in Arisaig and helped with the 2015 refurbishment project, has agreed to design the new extension for us and you can see his architectural drawings below.
